Assistive Technology should be indicated if a device(s) and/or service(s) is being provided. Examples include voice output devices, word processors, electronic books, talking calculators, alternate computer keyboards, switches, adapted chair, sidelyer, stander, screen magnifier, FM system, adaptive sporting equipment, walker, etc. Assistive Technology does not include a medical device that is surgically implanted, or the replacement of such device. <br>

It is the goal of Etowah County Schools that each student graduates from high school with the knowledge and skills to succeed in post-high school education and the workforce without the need for remediation as evidenced by multiple measures achieved through multiple pathways to meet the graduation requirements set for student in Alabama. The Etowah County School System provides related services that are required to assist children with disabilities to benefit from special education. All related services may not be required for each individual child. Each IEP Team must determine what related services are required to assist a child with a disability to benefit from special education. Related services may include, but are not limited to, audiology services, counseling services, including rehabilitation counseling services, early identification and assessment of disabilities in children, interpreting services, medical services (for diagnostic and evaluation purposes only), occupational therapy, parent counseling and training, physical therapy, psychological services, recreation, speech-language pathology, social work services in schools, school nurse services, school health services, and orientation and mobility services.
Related services can be provided as direct services and indirect services through teacher training, paraprofessional training, general education teacher training, administrator training, support services training, all school personnel training, parent training, ar other appropriate personnel as deemed necessary by the IEP Team members. Monitoring of services will be conducted on related services as recommeded and approved by the IEP Team.
